About Me

I've spent more than 40 years working with technology, from enterprise computer operations at Digital Equipment Corporation to leading release and change management for financial systems processing roughly $2 trillion in transactions every year at JPMorgan Chase. Along the way, I learned something that has nothing to do with a particular programming language or software platform: technology is only useful when it solves a real problem. I learned how to take complicated systems, understand what people actually need, find where things can be made simpler and more efficient, and build processes that work in the real world. I've worked with developers, business teams, infrastructure, operations, and executives—and I've also owned and operated a small business myself. That combination gives me a perspective that goes beyond simply building websites.

That's the idea behind Old Guy Web Works. I help small businesses and individual business owners establish or improve their web presence without making technology another full-time job. Sometimes that means a simple, professional website that tells customers who you are and what you do. Sometimes it means improving an existing site, making information easier to find, streamlining how customers contact you, or finding small ways technology can make your business more efficient. I don't believe every business needs a complicated website, expensive software, or a giant development agency. You need technology that makes sense for your business—and someone you can call when you don't want to deal with it yourself. My goal is simple: you focus on running your business; I'll help make the technology work for you.
